Summer Intern Q&A
It's almost that time, time for #BackToSchool! School is starting just around the corner and that means our summer interns will be heading back to class and hitting the books. Over the next few weeks, we will be saying goodbye and sharing some of the great things they've done during their time with us and the things they hope to accomplish after graduation. Today, we're introducing you to Kelsey Park, our interior design co-op student.
Where did you go to high school?
Naperville Central High School, Naperville, IL
What university/college are you attending and what is your major?
I am attending Ball State University with a major in Interior Design and a minor in Marketing.
What do you want to do after graduation?
After I graduate, I would love to work with a firm that offers me a position as an Interior Designer. I'm interested in designing for healthcare, but I am open to any area of design. I definitely want to travel more and hope to go on a few more mission trips!
What attracted you to the co-op program at Champlin?
I heard about Champlin through a career fair at Ball State and while I was looking at the different firms that had positions in Interior Design, Champlin had the most to offer. The biggest attraction was the different areas of design and the office life and culture they portrayed! Champlin sounded like a dedicated, creative company with a friendly and collaborative work environment. Come to find out, they are!
Why do you want to be an Interior Designer?
I've always loved art and drawing when I was younger, but never had the desire to become an art major. Studying interior design is a way for more to bring my artistic abilities and creativity to a larger scale and connect to people.
What's a unique thing people don't know about you?
I went on a hiking expedition in Canada two summers ago and climbed the top of a 7,000 ft mountain! I was hiking through snow caps and it was such an amazing experience and I was able to experience it with my friends.
Please join us in saying goodbye to Kelsey and wishing her the best luck throughout the rest of her college career and beyond. We'll miss you, Kelsey!
