A 225,000 sf existing state office building, known as 25 S. Front Street, in downtown Columbus has been gutted and rehabilitated to create new office space for the Ohio Department of Education. When entering the building, visitors are greeted in a restored and updated lobby featuring new patterned terrazzo floors and custom-designed metal ceiling and light fixtures complementing existing black granite walls. On the upper floors, the building’s existing cellular deck wiring system is utilized to create a flexible floor plan, easily allowing reconfiguration to meet the department’s changing needs.
